Compatibility

mySync DM is compatible with wide variety of mobile devices and platforms.

The device management compatibility

Current platforms (fully supported):

Most new development is done for these platforms.

  • Android (2.2 and all later)
    • Google-branded, and non-Google-branded devices
    • SIM card is not required on the device
    • all Samsung Knox and Samsung Galaxy SEAP Android devices have an enhanced DM support
  • Apple iOS (4.0 and all later)
    • SIM card is not required on iPads
    • iPods are not formally supported
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile
  • Microsoft Windows Phone 8.0-8.1
  • Jolla Sailfish OS (1.0 and all later)

Legacy platforms (still fully supported):

No new major features are developed for these platforms.

  • Symbian (from S60 3rd edition to ^3 Belle Refresh)
  • Microsoft Windows Phone 7
  • RIM Blackberry OS 5 - 7
  • Meego 1.2 Harmattan (Nokia N9/N950)

Future platforms (not yet fully supported):

We have commitment to support these platforms as soon as possible/feasible.

  • Tizen OS from Samsung
  • Ubuntu Touch (Ubuntu Phone) from Canonical
  • Blackberry OS (10.x)
  • Firefox OS from Mozilla Foundation

For device management, mySync DM has engines for OMA DM, Exchange ActiveSync (EAS), Apple MDM, Microsoft EDM, and Android WSDM. For Samsung Galaxy SEAP Android devices, we have a more advanced client with extended support. Some device platforms support more than one DM protocol. Especially EAS is supported by most device platforms as an additional possible DM protocol.

The data synchronisation compatibility

Some devices support multiple protocols for data synchronisation (backup/restore).

Current platforms (fully supported):

  • Android (2.2 and later) via WSDM
    • Google-branded, and non-Google-branded devices

  • Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile via WSDM
  • Microsoft Windows Phone (8.0-8.1) via WSDM

  • Nokia Asha OS with native OMA DS support

Legacy platforms (still fully supported):

  • Symbian (from S60 3rd edition to ^3 Belle Refresh) via OMA DS
  • Nokia Series 40 and early Asha devices with native OMA DS support
  • RIM Blackberry OS 5 - 7 via WSDM
  • Meego 1.2 Harmattan (Nokia N9/N950) via OMA DS
  • SonyEricsson (Java Platform) with native OMA DS support
  • Symbian (S60 2nd edition and later) with native OMA DS support

Future platforms (not yet fully supported):

  • Blackberry OS (10 and later) via EAS
  • Tizen OS from Samsung via WSDM
  • Sailfish OS from Jolla via WSDM
  • Ubuntu Touch (Ubuntu Phone) from Canonical via WSDM
  • Firefox OS from Mozilla Foundation (protocol not yet confirmed)

The data synchronisation portion of mySync DM also has several engines to support all relevant platforms on the market. The engines are OMA DS (SyncML), WSDM, and Exchange ActiveSync (EAS).
